Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) June 08, 2011.

When the judge Herbert Klein joined the order of benevolent protection of Elks (B.P.O.E.) in 1951, the country is experiencing a boom of post-war - and Los Angeles Lodge # 99 is the ideal place to socialize and establish connections. "In these years, anyone who was anyone belonged to the Elks," Klein noted recently. "The lodge is an excellent place to make friends, to establish business relationships and giving back to the community - and still is!

June 14, Klein is famous as a member of the Elks of 60 years. "I joined the Elks flag day," Klein, 89, recalled. "My membership coincided with a ceremony of inspiration at the lodge honoring the stars and stripes.".

Created in 1868 to New York, the elk got her start when some artists are sought a place to gather on their day off. The Group has evolved into a fraternal organization - where members depend on them for help - and increased from a few individuals in a loge at almost a million people in the dressing rooms 2,000 throughout the country. Today, Elks contributes more than 80 million per year for benevolent, educational and community programs - live its motto "Elks care, Elks and share".

Part of the mission of the Organization has always been to "the spirit of American patriotism to accelerate" - and Elks played a crucial role in bringing the flag day in the foreground by mandating a 14th formal June ceremony in honour of the flag. The focus of Elks June 14 as flag day contributed to the possible designation of the date as a recognized party - legislation signed in 1949 by Harry s. Truman, a member of the lodge of Elks, Kansas City, Missouri.

Truman is not the only US President who belonged to the Elks. The other members are Warren Harding g., Franklin Roosevelt d., John f. Kennedy and Gerald Ford R...

In 2011, 60 years after that, he joined the Elks, producer j. Herbert Klein has a new mission - to attract young members of lodges across the country. "The Elks will only continue to prosper if it can attract people of the younger generation and show them the benefits of personal, professional, social and community organization." To this end, Klein, executive producer of International Film Arts, develops a talent school entitled Stars tomorrow, contest which he has dubbed "the world more large reality Show". He plans to details on the competition in the coming months.

A native of Detroit, MIchigan, Klein wrote on his career in his memoirs published recently, beyond Hollywood: A Memoir of Fate, chance, the unexplained & living the American dream. The book, which showcases fascinating stories about people Klein has known and worked with – including the Howard Hughes, Frank Sinatra, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Jayne Mansfield, Jon Hall and Yvonne De Carlo - is available on Amazon.com.
