A succession of Lakeshore Minnesota One-Of-A-Kind

Only two hours Northwest of twin cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, you will find the Lake of Lake estates estate: estate of Brentwood. There are four houses, countless gardens, paths, a patio bonfire, tennis and volleyball courts and a beach of sand of walking on this remarkable property that covers 30 hectares and 1 230 meters of the shore of the Lake.

The angular and animated forms in iron wrought to the main road grid set the tone. Architect Reed Becker speaks of how they appear in the main house, the houses along the wooded trails and hosts.

Becker explains the Brentwood estate was an enriching and interesting project. He started in the beginning of the 1990s with a telephone call from the day to the next. "We went from there." The entire project has been very collaborative. Throughout the project we have taken decisions in answering the question "what would be fun to live in"? "And Brentwood proved to be the type of a magical place". He tells stories about the artisans who worked on the houses and grounds bringing their families to see the progress and evening to show their work. "Everyone wanted to make beautiful and it might be the best." They didn't disappoint each other. It is an unusual thing to see. »

Becker made the lakeshore and captured from many points of view. Each part of the property has its own sense, but all are related to each other. "I think that we were able to enjoy the beauty of the property." The first guest house overlooks the Lake. The idea was to make it feel as if you could look at water level and run right out of the grass and the shore. The Hill House is more private. It is built in trees, the bridge is up to a level and really feel you like you're in the forest when you are.

The site is unique. It is unusual and difficult to obtain as many feet of adjacent lake shore, a beach of sand, rolling hills and wooded areas and private life. "It was important to this project to bring a natural feeling for the structures that we build and combine the pure lines with natural materials - natural materials, you might find in an old Lake cabin. "Many unique and special materials were used in the home."

Interviewed on the parts of the property he likes better than Becker, said "there is indeed a 15"x 15"form on the ground in the front entrance of the main house." It is a mark of rough of the original plans. We grew to love it, expanded artwork and built in the House. There is a piece of beautiful art glass in the door of St. Paul artist Michael Pilla. It is a way to let the light and a warm welcome and unique. This is really special. The wall of the living room in the House main dating and bends back to a skylight. You can watch a torrential rain and clouds go while you sit near the fireplace. It is almost as if you are in a helicopter surrounded by and connected to nature. There is also a theatre. It was fun to design. There is a scene with lights and the great acoustics. It is a place to watch movies but the place where the children and grandchildren put on plays and musicals. There is also the Lake. The owner was so pleased to have the docks and boats when we built the estate but admitted one back jet skis could be more fun than boats. I have been a number of times, and it was fun to hear stories about so many people benefiting from the place. "As I said, Brentwood is a magical place".

The estate of Brentwood is on the market for the first time. For more information about this kind of one-of-a property please contact Marc or Linda Kuhnley.
