Former Monterey Maritime and history museum was reopened on 4 June, as the newly appointed Museum of Monterey (MoM) after 15 months of closure.


The Museum, a point landmarks on Custom House Plaza in Monterey, offers an exhibition, "Flows at Bay", featuring art and artists who create fine arts which explores issues of marine debris, plastic pollution and its effects on the environment, human health, the oceans and Earth.


In addition, the Museum features works and the artifacts in the exhibition on the Monterey area, called "Treasures of the Collection," with the history of Monterey and the Art Association most valuable works of art and artifacts - native American tribes who flourished in the region, in the 19th and 20th century artists who produced leaders of work inspired by the landscapes of the blast area.


In addition, 50 - by 9.5 feet mural - a "historama" - is in the Museum. The mural was created by artist well known Los Angeles Andre Miripolsky, who also designed and painted graphics theme of wave on the fence surrounding the Museum. Miripolsky worked with Elton John, Bette Midler, Quincy Jones, Rolling Stones, Robin Williams, MTV and Jay Leno's "Tonight Show". The mural illustrates various aspects of the region of the past, ranging from agriculture, cars, festivals and sea otters and sardine, monuments, golf of Monterey.


The exhibition presents the art and artists locally and globally to create fine art - image, concept or materials - which explores issues of marine debris, plastic pollution and its effects on the environment. "' Flows into the Bay ' explores the relationship between the society of consumption and the ocean." Artists are an example of an increasing number of voice and concerned individuals who have actively decided to pursue this matter. At various locations and with a variety of materials and ideas, they serve as apocalyptic visionaries of our disposable society. The exhibition was inspired by the efforts of the plastic Pollution Coalition and the artists who support.


Based on the past, MoM will help make living history - locally, at the regional and global level. MoM is open Tuesday - Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm (closed Monday).
