May 24, 2011, the American Civil Liberties Union, PEN American Center and the Film Society of Lincoln Center has organized a presentation of "Reckoning with Torture: memos and testimonies of the"war on terror"" The Walter Reade Theater. The performance featured readings formerly secret government documents, videos and original art works that highlight the scope and cost of torture of the following 11 programs.

The prestigious night included readings of: Russell Banks, Dahlia Lithwick, Peter Godwin, Rula Jebreal, Beth Gutcheon, Kati Marton and John Buffalo Mailer, Dianne Wiest, Lili Taylor, former Attorney of Guantánamo colonel Morris Davis and former agent of the CIA Jack Rice.

The performance, conducted by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Fair Game), followed a similar event presented at the Film Festival, Sundance 2011. The presentation of the Lincoln Center was also filmed in a project of national documentary film to promote accountability for torture.

Liman has added, "it is a privilege to work with the ACLU and PEN American Center on this important project.".

On Rula Jebreal
RULA Jebreal is an award-winning journalist Palestinian, Talk Show host and author. Born in 1973 in Haifa, Israel, she spent her childhood in East Jerusalem, with his family.
