On June 14, 2011, Full Sail University (fullsail.edu) is proud to welcome award-winning country singer / songwriter and former Lonestar front man, Richie McDonald, to its campus for an exclusive presentation held at the room full Sail Live. McDonald Tour Manager and graduate Full Sail Show Production, Kevin Lammons, joined the event to discuss his career in the industry of music and share insight into the world of professional concert tours.


Recognized as one of the best singers of country music and the old man of front of Lonestar, Richie McDonald is the voice of songs such as "Amazed", "smile" and "No News". In addition to sharing his talents as an artist, he is the songwriter behind such hits as "My Front Porch Looking In," "Let them be little" and "I'm already there," which became an anthem for American troops serving in the Middle East. McDonald won six albums gold and Platinum, many CMA and ACM awards and the BMI Award for writing songs.


"It's great to be here at full sail University," said McDonald. "I always knew that I wanted to be an artist, I am pleased to be able to give back and to offer guidance to students by sharing the experiences of my career."


McDonald discusses his career in the music industry from recording and writing for artists renowned John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker and Sara Evans toured with Lonestar. To join him on stage at the Conference, McDonald Tour Manager and full sail graduate Kevin Lammons, spoke to students about the world of concert tours and his work as a live engineer with the acts of the national tour which included 5 years on the road with Lonestar.
