Two enterprising American Muslims start a new series of comic strip with a message to the bias and counter propaganda against Islam, hoping to dispel the fear and mistrust the current environment of staining.
"As artist, I've always been fascinated by the concept of superheroes and comic books." It was and is a means of entertainment that has captured the imagination of young people and adults around the world. The recent attack, unprecedented films based on Comic characters speaks for itself. Unfortuntely, in the past two years, we have seen a growing sense against Islam and Muslims, mainly because of the propaganda in the media and elsewhere. Something had to be done, we had to hear another voice. Therefore, we thought that the time was right to bring a Muslim superheroes to transport this message with all the elements of the mystery, action and adventure. If the idea of 'buraaq' was born and founded SplitMoonArts, said Adil Imtiaz, co-founder and artist.
"buraaq," is interpreted as a practising Muslim, a regular guy who is transformed into a superhero by traumatic events in his youth. According to SplitMoonArts, the mission is not step to preach, but to provide healthy family entertainment. The underlying message, they say, would help to promote the improvement of relations between the West and the Islamic world.
"As an American, I see the same principles on which our nation was built deliberately attacked." All those who are on the side of truth, Justice & peace must come together regardless of race, colour or belief. "I firmly believe that good is universal, as it is wrong," adds Kamil Imtiaz, co-founder and writer.
The first digital issue of "buraaq" was published online in January, 2011on http://www.splitmoonarts.com website of the company, downloadable free of charge. The comic also has a fanpage on Facebook, which now has a fan following worldwide growing and 713.
SplitMoonArts has launched the second digital issue online which is also free on June 21, 2011. The plot revolves around "buraaq", which is established to a battle of old centuries between the researchers of truth and the forces of evil who are always surrounded by secrecy.
The third issue is already underway, and SplitMoonArts intends to digitally release in September 2011.
