Ringling College of Art and Design today announced that three Ringling College students received 2011 National ADDY Awards. More great contest of advertising in the world, the ADDY Awards ® is administered by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and represents the true spirit of excellence creatively by the recognition of all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and from all levels of anywhere in the world.
Receive their award at the National Awards show and Gala June 4 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel was Ringling College student Alex Terry, who won for his print campaign "Don't text & Drive" (gold ADDY Awards); Ann Putney for his campaign of "amazon kindle Escalator" (ADDY Gold Award); and Corey Meade for "Teddy & the Friedan" (Silver ADDY Award).
"Win two National Student ADDY is very exciting for our advertising program Design, its faculty and students, said Ringling College of Art and advertising Design and Design program coordinator David Foote." Our Ad Design program provides students the personal attention and collaboration opportunities to help them develop as creative ad faster. Accordingly, the ADDY Awards ®, our students won this year, including 24 local, District 3 - including Best of Show - and now, two National Student gold and one silver ADDY, were all won by freshman sophomores and juniors. "I am very proud of all our students and faculty Ringling advertising Member Design Vivian Owen, who helped guide them in the creation of so many award-winning work".
Campaign print of "Don't text & Drive" Alex Terry illustrates the consequences of texts at the wheel of a particularly striking way. Ann Putney "Amazon Kindle Escalator" campaign highlights the variety and selection of the titles of electronic books available for Kindle for Amazon eReader, and Corey Meade data visualization "Teddy & the Friedan" comparing two great Americans - Theodore Roosevelt and Ted Nugent.
The awards competition AAF student ADDY is a unique national program designed for students of the college scholarships. Work entered at the local level can rise to the regional and national judging, as the work entered by professionals across the country. Candidates must be enrolled or partial full time at a U.S. educational institution accredited.
