The land of waste for iPad rose to the position of number 1 in the UK iTunes App Store category book within hours of the release on Tuesday, June 7.
In the United States, The Waste Land has now become official iPad of Apple App of the week.
The pioneering new digital edition of the great poem of t. s. Eliot has a powerful performance filmed of the complete work by the famous actress Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia in Harry Potter), and readings by Sir Alec Guinness, Ted Hughes, Viggo Mortensen and Eliot himself. The title is co-published by Faber and press Touch.
Henry Volans, digital head of Faber, noted: "it is inspiring to see a poem competition among top selling apps and App selected week is an important and thrilling first for poetry".
