Third Avenue Village Association to host inaugural Village Hunt

Third Avenue Village Association (Nicnewman) Chula Vista invites families and friends to join in first annual hunting Village on Saturday, July 9 from 9: 30 to 1 h 30. The event starts and finishes Memorial Park. Participants will receive a package Hunt, bib number, a Village Hunt official T-Shirt and are invited to attend a party and awards ceremony.

Teams will be testing their brain power, creativity and physical ability by completing tasks and answer trivia questions as they explore the historic city. A quick wit and a judicious planning could win the day on speed and fitness.

"We are delighted to welcome the participants to the Third Avenue Village for this event," said Greg Mattson, Executive Director of the TAVA. "The hunting of the Village will be to combine strategies of popular games such as Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit with the adventure of a treasure hunt".

Two to four teams will compete for a variety of awards, including the species. Hunting village honours the Chula Vista of 2011 Centennial year, so that participants are encouraged to refresh on the history of the city.

The Village hunting is fun parties equal, challenge and adventure with friends, family and neighbours. Participants can find the online registration forms at http://www.thirdavenuevillage.com. Registration is $ 10 per person. Forms and payment must be received before July 1st. All participants must be at least 18 years.

American Association for Affirmative Action Announces access, fairness...

Association American for Affirmative Action (AAAA), an organization of equal opportunities, diversity and professional of positive action, announced its access, equity and diversity Summit annual meeting on the theme "" EEO and diversity: a Strong secure nation prosperous through a fair and Inclusive workplace. "" The Summit will be held at the Convention Center Atlantic City, a Convention Blvd., Atlantic City, New Jersey 08401, 28-30 June 2011. The theme of the Summit is derived from the vision of equal opportunity employment (EEOC) Commission statement. Summit this year, the will be co-organized by the Council of the positive Action officers in New Jersey.

Speakers include the Mayor of the city of the Atlantic Lorenzo Langford; Jacqueline Berrien, Chair of the equal employment opportunity Commission (EEOC); Patricia a. Shiu, Director of the Office of federal contract compliance programs, U.S. Department of Labor. and Flonzie Brown Wright, Manager of the freedom of 50th Mississippi. Ernest Hicks of Xerox Corp. will introduce the Chair Berrien and Luke Visconti, founder and editor of DiversityInc, will preside over lunch yyyy on June 30.

The Summit will also present a showcase of diversity seminar on 29 June and will include members of the panel: Armstrong Williams, TV and Radio show host; Steve o. Michael, Arcadia University and the National Association of diversity in higher education (NADOHE) officers; Robin Parker, Beyond Diversity Resource Center. Anjali Thakur-Mittal, Conference on Leadership on civil rights; Veronica Villalobos, Director of the Office of diversity and Inclusion, U.S. Office of Personnel Management. and the France (via Skype), Professor Marie-Christine Pauwels-Borel, University of Paris Nanterre defence West. Ms. Jeannine LaRue will moderate the Panel. Panelists explored the relationship between affirmative action and diversity.

The Summit will also examine the issue of "Fairness in education" at the primary level and secondary. This plenary session will feature Stephanie James Wilson, Amistad Commission (NJ). Dr. Gilda Rorro Baldassari, NJ Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission; Dr. Paul Winkler, Commission on education of the Holocaust; and the Dr. Paula c. Rodriguez Rust, diversity of spectrum. Hope r. Blackburn, Esq.. will moderate the Panel.

The Summit offers two workshops pre-Conference, one on the Faculty recruitment and retention, and a training Camp for EEO practitioners entitled "All You Need to Know as a professional of the AA/EEO/diversity." In addition, there will be twelve workshops. "Workshop topics include: the" workplace bullying: practices and Legal Issues, "EEOC systemic program and Efforts to pay equal," "second handicap in the workforce: not only a strategic advantage, an imperative,"and"design of harassment E-Learning in higher education: challenges and opportunities." Another workshop will present the results of a survey on "" academic institutions as federal contractors: explore the challenges in accordance. ""

Students at Pasadena Bar Association Awards two Local High School...

Pasadena Bar Association held a tournament of scholarships of the speech on the day of the law. The competition took place in the Hall of gold at the Pasadena Convention Center, where the Association du Barreau Pasadena awarded two pupils of secondary school with scholarships. The two finalists were honour student Joelle Cheng, junior, Maranatha High School and Stanford-bound David Lam, senior high school in San Gabriel. Cheng received the winner of a scholarship of $5,000, as Lam received honours finalist and a $2,000 scholarship.

Cheng and Lam, won the opportunity to compete at the Pasadena Bar Association Law day and talk about 150 of judges and lawyers, the speakers of the two first to April being appointed in last of the preliminary round. About 50 students representing local high schools, applications to participate in the tournament of speech. Each competitor student presented a seven minute speech, choose from a list of three selected themes, including technology of the 21st century, Internet Privacy or freedom of expression.

On the two finalists, Vice President of the Pasadena Bar Association, Donald P. Schweitzer said: "we couldn't be happier with the performance of the two finalists". Joelle and David is passed from time to time and really improved their speech when they spoke during the preliminary rounds in April.

Pasadena Bar Association organizes this event since last summer with the expectations that the association may have a positive impact on the local high school students and their ability to speak in public.

"By holding this event a bar Pasadena something special for competitors and our Community Association made some," said Schweitzer.

Pasadena Bar Association helps its members to develop and improve their practice of law by providing information, services, networking, professional development and other resources programmes. The PBA has launched many programs, services and opportunities for its members, the profession, the judiciary and the community.
