Multiracial Americans celebrate the loving day at the 4th annual mixed roots...

Multiracial Americans, more large growing community of the country, will celebrate the stories of the mixed experience at the 4th mixed roots Film & Literary Festival annual, 11 June - 12 June 2011, to the Japanese American National Museum (369 East first street) in downtown Los Angeles.

In the era of the Obama, the two day Festival free brings together film and lovers of books, the innovative and emerging artists and multiracial families and persons for workshops, readings, films and projections of the family special activities in collaboration with the Japanese American National Museum-free target family day.

The Festival hosts the largest West Coast collect loving day, a folk festival in the country of the anniversary of the decision of the Supreme Court which upheld the right of the people of different races to marry. Loving this year June 11 to 18 h 00 is a free dessert reception.

Immediately after the receipt is the annual Loving presentation of prize and mixed Nomad, a concert of music, comedy and spoken poetry.

Advisor Jan Perry will also speak at the loving awards.

The Festival, a project sponsored financially from the New York Foundation for the Arts, a non-profit organization, is produced by the co-hosts of the award-winning weekly podcast mixed chicks Chat (http://www.mixedchickschat.com): award-winning Educator and actor, Fanshen Cox and the New York Times best-selling novelist, Heidi Durrow.

Today, 7 per cent of all marriages are interracial, according to the census. More than 6.8 million people identify themselves as mixed. New census figures show that the multiracial Americans are the demographic growth; and 1 to 5 Métis lives in California.

Festival highlights:

-Target free family day at JANM, tale of characteristics of 11: 00 am-4: 00 pm, Saturday, June 11, by Sarah Culberson author has found the Princess. Families can also enjoy the interactive craft activities throughout the day.

-The Festival hosts the largest West Coast loving day celebration, Saturday, 11 June 2011, at 6: 00. The reception was held jointly with the celebration of New York City Loving day 1000-person hosted by day Loving (http://www.lovingday.org). Free.

-Playwright of Paul Spickard and award-winning scholar Velina Hasu Houston receive each a loving, annual prize of the Festival to tell stories inspired the mixed experience on the night of Saturday Loving award presentation, June 11, 2010 at 6: 30 pm.

-The Festival will present several feature films, including the L.A. Premiere of shout to the sky by featuring Zoë Kravitz and Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe and one big Hapa family, on the ideas touching, profound and funny of blended and non-traditional families. The Festival is also pleased to present award-winning several short films.

-The Festival includes readings by award-winning author Danzy Senna novelists (you are free), Nina Revoyr (Wingshooters) and Marie Mockett (picking bones from ash), and National Book Award finalist Susan straight (Take One Light Candle room).
